This box with recessed lid was made with slabs of clay that were first decorated with slip. It was fired in the soda chamber of the wood kiln and has some beautiful flashing and texture from the effects of the soda. It would be a beautiful addition to your kitchen counter to hold spices, tea, or treasures on your desk.
